vintage cute

How Cute are these aprons...I'd like to find a pattern and give it the old college try

Words of Wisdom

Just a snippet of a letter from Sister Henson to her Mom:

"I've been thinking a lot about food storage lately and have been worried that the family wouldn't be taken care of if something happened. I am glad you have been feeling the same urgency that I have felt. I guess it spawns from the pioneers. When they were forced out in February, many of them weren't prepared because they had procrastinated gathering supplies and it caused some big problems. Only the families that hadn't procrastinated gathering supplies made it across OK. Anyway I won't lecture".

Here is a snippet of a letter Meagan sent to me
this week.

"We are going to the zoo today, I'm pretty excited.
It's going to be in the 70's today and I'm
wearing one of the cute shirts you sent me
and the red shoes. I love wearing new clothes.
Anyway, I've got to run. I love you. Thanks for
being the best mom, and friend, ever."

She's such a girl:) (and a flatterer)

My Super smart and correct missionary

Since Coco has been posting Meagan's missionary
letters I thought I'd just share
tid-bits of the letters she sends to me,
her mother.
I think you'll find her wording and message
to be insightful and right on target.

Quoting Sister Henson:

"Thanks for praying for the mission of excellence
Mom,it was your prayers
alone that helped. I'm so glad to have
such a spiritual giant for a
mother. Would you mind asking the Lord
to bless us a lot this next week?"

I love that girl ;)
(you don't think she was being sarcastic do you)?
nah..

Finally...

I have missed the office more than I could have imagined. When the writers strike started I thought it would be fine...only last a few days or weeks at the most. I was so bored...but the surprising thing was that without the TV to entertain me I had to resort to things like learning to sew, or writing in a journal. I know I know it's crazy because I have no talent at any of it. I even made baby blankets and aprons out of desperation. But now that the shows are back on I can go back to doing what I've always done, which is as little as possible.
(at least on Thursday nights anyway:)

Love it!

I love my new background and music...Chase, my smart boy, helped me figure it out because I'm not techy...I'm just geeky. If you ask my children they will invariably agree with you. I love fantasy movies, fairly hard core rock..(no screaming, it has to be smart if you know what I mean). I love to read sci-fi books and serial killer books, but I'm trying to broaden my range to vampire stories :)
My husband says that I am the best part of a guy with all the benefits of a girl...not sure what he means but I'll pretend it's a compliment.
Oh and I still love Lord of the Rings...it's a classic. I come by this very naturally...my mother...she loved and I mean, loved Tarzan. Specifically Greystoke. Remember that movie..she can't get enough of it. Not to demean Johnny Weismiller, but Greystoke was it for her. What chance have I got with a mother like that?

My handsome boy

This is my oldest boy, Chase. He did some modeling for a friend and we think he looks pretty handsome here.
(I don't think I like the way she is looking at him)

Newbie

Ok, this is my first attempt at entering the world of blogging. I can't figure out how to do the things I want to do, so I'm relying on my blogging daughter. I like the idea of the blog however so over the next several weeks (months) I'll edit, revise and delete.
Stay tuned...it'll get worse before it gets better!
